Does anyone know what court is used (different courts include county courts and city courts) by people who wish to bring lawsuits with damages of 500 000 dollars?

Thanks, I think (clarifying) that I would need a county court because:
1. The plaintiff, defendant and incident were of one state (hypothetically speaking-this is homework. for simplicity's sake.)
2. The amount of money is more than what is allowed in small claims court.

The only court you cannot claim in is Small Claims court.

You can go to the County or Circuit Court in the area where the issue took place and get information about filing.

hmmm.. most citys dont have courts.. it is more of county courts.. atleast where i live in california.. but im not aware that any court has a financial limit.. but that jurisdiction is which law was broken, and location. also if multiple courts have jurisdiction over crimes.. they sometimes decide among themselves which one has the harshist punishment for that particular crime... so that you die!.. for you.. you probably just go to your local town or county court.. non criminal claims court thingy..
