http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13507360/ let me go out on a limb here and say people such as herself are the reason myspace is getting bad press and i wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she got herself killed. with all of the controversy surrounding myspace as of late, what do you think when you see something like this?

there were dopey teens before there was myspace, and they found plenty of dopey things to do.

katherine lester sounds pretty low-ceilinged to me - but i've heard worse.

when i was at school (shortly after the wright brothers scaled everest ) one of the cleverest girls in our year married the boyfriend she had been with for three years on her eighteenth birthday.

we thought this was a bit questionable. girls were just starting to go to college - and sylvia had already said she wanted to be with adrian so much she wouldn't bother.

but the girl was eighteen. at some stage you have to start treating people like grown-ups.

the marriage lasted just over fourteen months. sylvia had still managed to lose touch with all her friends, miss her place in the educational system, and develop bad depressions she still suffers from.

but at some point you have to start treating people like grown-ups.

if you let people make choices - some of those choices will be bad ones.

but how else are they going to learn?

Myspace is not the problem here. It's the stupidity of the people. It's people like this who ruin it for everyone. I personally use Myspace to keep in touch with friends and family, and it's a great tool. Parents also blame the the site for what happen to their children, when it's their own fault. They should know what their kids are doing at all times, and that's the problem when you give unsupervised kids this much freedom. They don't have good judgement, and they ruin the site for the smart, more sensible people. Parents reading this. Do not block your teen from Myspace. If you're concerned that much about them, Myspace will do them no harm. It's the unsupervised teens that get in all this action. Also, if you are in doubt, go to their page, check their history. THEN you will be able to tell for yourself what you think of Myspace and their online actions.

It was incredibly stupid for her to run away like that but typical youthful folly. Sounds to me like she has too much money at her disposal. If the two are serious the man should have come to America and met her parents. If that wasn't possible he should have contacted them by mail or telephone or Email. Maybe the girl and her parents could have gone together to meet the young man and his family. The two may actually work it out and live happily ever after in a few years. If they do I'm all for them. They won't be the first to find true love on ther internet.

I think that it is just stupid to say you love someone you have never met someone you met face to face! That man could be REALLY bad. I would never do anything like that!
