For me Mike and The Mechanics song The Living Years does it everytime. It reminds me of all the people I've lost over the years, and how each relationship ended. At lot of things left unresolved and unsaid. Makes me realize that I must tell my children and loved ones how much I love them everday and to make sure I never leave anything lingering.

The song that comes to mind for me is a country song sung by Patty Loveless. I believe the title of it is "Time Will Ease Your Pain". It came out a few years ago but I still get teary-eyed when I hear it. It is very sad.
