Check to see if it is plugged to an electrical outlet. Most computers not working are not plugged in. Check this out first Switch it on. If lights are on at front of your computer and makes a whirrling sound that should tell you that the power supply is ok. If your monitor lights up and shows a welcome message, then your computer is all right. Go ahead and use it. Cheers!

Computer people always say "REBOOT". If that doesn't work - take it to the computer fix it people....or get a new one.
It could be a lot of things you might want to be more specific.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RAN YOUR MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS (defrag, etc)Turn it off, unplug all cords, take it for a walk around the house (say about 5 minutes), set it down, plug everything back in, turn it on......relax....wait....talk nicely to it.............it ALMOST always works for me...the computer geeks who built my PC gave me this weird advice!??? If that doesn't work, you must break down & take it to your local PC Dr.......GOOD LUCK PS I feel your pain!
Oh, & DO NOT TRY THIS WITHOUT AN ADULT AROUND IF YOU ARE NOT ONE!! (Getting shocked is a real drag)

it would help if you gave a better description of the problem
Won't power up?
Won't connect to the internet?
I assume you did not post this question with the broken computer...
