I am a populist, therefore, I am neither R nor D. I am a registered independent. Neither party speaks "and" acts for the little man.

To paraphrase an earlier participant, I believe the terms "liberal" and "conservative" to be, at their foundations, meaningless labels in that they are always in a state of flux. If I, as a liberal, achieve everything socially and politically that I desire, I immediately become a conservative in that I want, most likely, to maintain what I have helped to win. A new "liberalism" would arise in response to this. If I must apply a label, it is progressive., in that I seek to push my own spirit away from stagnation and into further enlightenment.

Conservative. I'm too smart to be a liberal.

I was actually in the middle, until the left went so far out to make me be considered a conservative.

Neither. The terms have become cliche and have no real meaning except as slander. I am a progressive and as such do not tow any particular line, hook in mouth. Like guns, don't like abortion, don't like the death penalty, not to keen on government spending these days, don't think Iraq was based on real "intelligence" but know we can't just pull out without creating a bigger mess and more death, (its done and we're stuck for a long time no matter why we went there) and I know GWB IS a WMD.

Conservative. They say if you aren't a liberal when you are young, you have no heart and if you aren't a conservative when you are older, you have no brain.

Probably a little more conservative, but not a whole lot. I consider myself closer to middle-of-the-road.

I took a quiz for govt and I'm a liberal, maybe it's because I'm not religious and a "tree hugger" :)
