I don't think I'm crazy at all.

By the way, I saw a KY question on here from another Yahoo! user, and I'd figure I'd ask a question while it was fresh on my mind.

The land is beautiful; I love Land Between the Lakes, Natural Bridge, and Cumberland Falls, to name a few. However, the people are rude and impolite. I work two jobs--one in government and one in retail--and the best people I deal with are from outside Kentucky, places like Michigan, New Jersey, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, etc. Kentuckians are clipped, impolite, hateful, and don't say "please" and "thank you." I'm nice, friendly, polite, smiling, outgoing type, by the way. Anyway, I've been up north, out in the midwest and southwest, deep south, Florida, and up to NYC and NJ. While there are nice and mean people everywhere, KY has some major snobs. Even just a few weeks ago, I was going to Memphis and made two stops. Fulton, KY was rude and hateful; JUST 40 miles south in Dyersburg, TN it was warm and friendly.

No, you are not crazy. We all must seek that to which we are called. Kentucky doesn't seem to be where you are to be.

I moved here from Missouri 12 years ago. I was always drawn back to Missouri. From military service, I was drawn back to Missouri. From going away to college, I was drawn back. Missouri was home.

When I moved to Kentucky, I was home and never needed to return to Missouri for anything other than a visit.

Kentucky is beautiful. But so are a lot of other places I have been. California, Kansas, Colorado, Texas (not so much), Virginia Beach, VA, Michigan, Wisconsin, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Belize, Cancun, and many other places were all beautiful for their own unique reasons.

Find where you must be to fulfill your life, your joy, your peace.

Oh, I thought you meant something else.

People in Kentucky are majorly rude? I didn't find that to be the case. I found Tennessee people are kinda jerks. Georgia people are really polite, Florida people are really cool, South Carolina isn't, New York City is just...shudder*...too many kooks there, Michigan has a reputation for being cliquey and unfriendly, Los Angeles people are horrible while the rest of California is great, Vermont people are really great...that's about the extent of my opinion of Americans.

I didn't get a bad impression of Kentucky. Maybe you just need to move, you're sick of that state. If you want snobs, move to Ann Arbor, LA or NYC...they'll make Kentucky people look pretty damn fun to be around. Maybe you live in a snotty area of Kentucky?

I loved Louisville Kentucky when there for a few weeks. The people there are so
beautiful and careing, kind loving until I wanted to make it my home. Better than
this texas town. Futhermore I do believe you are crazy to pass up an opportunity
to live in Kentucky.

You must be in the bad parts. I like the Lexington area ("The biggest little town") best. If you get bad service anywhere, just tell the corporate HQ (it's usually a free call, or they have a form on the website). I'm sorry the people treated you in this manner.
