I completely agree. My think is that not only are they annoying, but people in the age groups that watch it (up and coming teenagers most I guess) stay pretty much ignorant and stereotypical because of them. The OC or Laguna Beach show all these girls still fighting over a dirtbag guy. They still show how to get yourself involved in drama in the stupidest way possible and totally waste your time instead of thinking about higher things. Shows like American Idol just become so formulated that people don't actually try to have original opinions, they try to act like they know how to sing or dance or market a person themselves when really they suck at karaoke. Every teen movie has some kind of nudity or sexual implication involved with it (even that "High School Musical" on Disney pissed me off, although not a reality show, because this kid was pimpin' two girls on an airplane and started making out with them both!) - I'm not an ultra-conservative or anything, but when you see the same things over and over again, it makes you wonder why your boyfriend or why guys think it's okay to cheat, or why they don't feel bad about it, or why girls have to be so damn gossipy and have such low thinking levels. Sometimes I wish I could see a show where someone doesn't give a crap about entertaining someone else or causing drama and actually gets to the top of something. Where someone actually gets degraded if they're a character who pimps everyone or shows off every inch of their body. Like I said, I can have as sense of humor but it pisses me off when it's so prominent that it actually becomes true.

I thought reality TV would die after 2-3 years. But, unfortunately, it hasn't...and it's worse than ever. The pathetic thing is that so many people in this country actually think those shows are real, and not rigged. Ha!

Most of what is on TV is garbage. I dont understand how they can call it reality, just whats real about it? If it wasn't for Discovery or Speed TV I wouldn't watch it at all.

I'll admit am hooked on reality shows but there's way to many I don't even watch half of them anymore. I'd love to see good clean comedies or feature films more.

I totally agree. When reality shows first started they were ok. But now it seems every network has half of their line up as reality shows.
