who claims he is happy with his wife and they still have sex, cheat on her?

Because it has nothing to do with her or his relationship with her. It has to do with his own insecurity, maybe he needs that reassurance that he's desirable which should only come from his wife but sometimes people need it from outside sources. That would be my best guess but what do I know? :)

He is either a stone faced liar or not totally happy. Men want a stable lifetime relationship just as much as you. They will only "cheat" when they find that they are missing some huge things in their marriage. We all have needs in our marriages, we don't all get them met. If a guy needs to be appreciated for his success, needs to be listened to, and needs to have an attractive wife - yet doesn't get anything like any of that - he will be vulnerable when he meets an attractive woman in the business world who hangs on every word he says and constantly tells him how much she is impressed by his success. If the right opportunity and circumstance shows up, next thing he knows he is in bed with the woman and can't stop what he is doing. Yet he still loves his wife.
I've not ever done that but I've seen it happen. When I was married and wasn't getting anything on the basic needs I have as a human being, I was often tempted (to look at least) at other women around me who gave me the things I wasn't getting at home. It was like they knew exactly which buttons to push. I was faithful to my vows but my wife was not.
Maybe we need to put a little more effort into fine tuning the relationship we already have without looking for satisfaction of basic needs elsewhere.

Because he is a 'self-serving' jerk looking out for his own selfish needs. Men like that really need to grow up. He doesn't care who he hurts as long as he gets his 'cheap thrill' and more often than not, he usually gets caught.
The kind of pain this type of man creates can last a lifetime, but people do learn to move on past it and get a better life (without him of course).

He has issues, and he's a liar. Why would you believe what he says about being happy with his wife, when you know he LIES to his wife. You have to take everything a cheater says with a grain of salt.

He is driven by "the thrill of the chase"! He is motivated to "see if he still has IT". He cheats because he is a cheater , by nature. He LOVES to cheat. That's why I say..."Once a cheater, always a cheater!" You can give him the blood out of your body, and he would still cheat. It's not your fault he cheats, it's his! Dump him, and move on with your life without him!

If he claims to be happy with her, he shouldn't cheat on her. If he has told her over and over THAT he is UnHAPPY and WHY. And nothing changes, she clearly doesn't care or can't do anything about it. Then its justified in my opinion. Either if she can't or won't.

It's usually because the other woman stroked his ego. They want to still feel wanted by other women.
