It really just depends on what your urine is being tested for. If you are really worried or embarassed, try using a tampon, that will prevent the blood from being in your urine. You should let whoever is doing your test know that you are on your period and they can advise you CORRECTLY. Like I said, it all depends on what you are being tested for.

Yes! Ofcourse.

I'm an RN. It will not change anything in the test results.
We find red blood cells and more cotton fibers in it than usual. That's all.

Nothing to worry about. Let the nurse know that you're on your period(menses). They will see the red blood cells under the microscope. If you don't tell them, or forget, it's ok.

We just go out and ask the patient in private if you're having your menses.
At any other time, finding erythrocytes in your urine would not be good news. Lol.

You can relax.

Tell them that you are on your period. The blood will show up, but just as long as the lab and doc know where it's coming from I don't think it will be a problem. They have some wipe like things that they'll ask you use before hand. I'm not really the one you should be asking.

Tampon and a pad, that's what works for me. But if you don't feel comfortable with tampons, use a super absorbent pad, and half way through p.e ask to go to the toilet and check/change. If its really bad and you really don't want to do p.e, just say you have really bad stomach pains/ headaches would you be able to sit this lesson out. If your teachers understanding just tell her its that time of the month and you've leaked all over your shorts, even if you haven't, she'll let you sit out then. Don't panic, every girl has to deal with this.

Yes. I would explain to the person administering the test, though. They will probably have you do a mid-stream clean catch. This is where you wipe witha sterile solution, start to urinate, then place the cup under you to catch the urine, and remove it before you get to the end of your urination. Wearing a tampon may help, too. But you really MUST tell the administrator of the test, because if blood shows up in the urine test, it may cause questions or false diagnoses.
