What stops itching?

Vericose veins are leaching iron into skin according to dermatologist. It itches like crazy. Does anyone have a solution. The doc prescribed some cream but it doesn't work very well. No surgery is available. Any ideas? Thanks

Aveeno is really good for itching as well as soaking in a bath of the oatmeal. Both really work well.
