A faerie is a mythological class of creatures, like giants or dragons. There are many different kinds are faerie (or faery, or fairy), especially in Celtic mythology, though similar beings are found in many different mythologies, including for example the Greek nymphs or Nordic elves (the short bearded kind). Pretty much, faeries are humanoid, ranging in size from a thumbtack to taller than a human, but all are obviously otherworldly and possess non-human characteristics: the long ears of Tolkeinesque elves are one example of an animal-like characteristic, while others are more obviously bestial. Faeries, like almost any magical creature, are more or less immortal, at least to natural causes. Most faeries are supposed to be very shy of humans, but some are said to need, want, or enjoy human company, at least at times.

Pixies are a specific kind of faerie (like a poodle is a specific kind of dog), usually depicted as somewhere between a few inches to a couple feet tall, beautiful, lean, long eared and with insect-like wings. Pixies are supposed to be mischievious, playful, whimsical, but sometimes dangerous, kind of like children no matter their apparent age. Tinkerbell would probably be considered a pixie, but of course still a faerie.

i will relate to you that when i was in the army in giessen, germany i went down the street to a bar and stayed till they closed. on the way back i took a short cut through the park and saw a bunch of pixies playing under a tree. i tried to walk by quiety but they had seen me.
i woke up by the lake.
stumbleing the rest of the way to the barracks i found that the pixies had broken my key. i had to wake my room mate up to let me in. what's more, the pixies had beaten me to the barracks and put their piece of the key in the door. i had to explain myself the next morning.
i couldn't tell them i'd been pixie led.

I think they're pretty much the same thing, except I think Pixie is meant with a more mischievous quality to it.
