Alright, I know a 1500 is average, right? So, does that mean getting lower than a 1500 wouldn't let you get into college?
I still have to take my SATs the second time in October I think. So I was just wondering what kind of score would be good.
Taking th SATs are scary... haha and it would be even scarier if I didn't get a score high enough to get into College! So, just let me know what kind of score I should be shooting for. ;-)
Thank you.

Depends on the college. Your SAT score is not the only factor colleges use when screening applicants. They use that in conjunction with your grades and extra curricular activities. Most colleges would rather take students who are in several groups with an average SAT score than somebody who scored high on the SAT but never got involved in school. I got an average score and got into the college of my choice with no problem. Look into some of the schools you're interested in and see exactly what they're looking for in prospective students.

It depends on where you want to go to school. You can get into some schools with less than a 1500, but I'm not sure how much less.
On the other hand, getting a 2100 (preferably higher though) will get you into any really good school if it's combined with a very, very good gpa. I would aim for an 1800, that should get you into a lot of schools.
I got a 1930 and got into an exclusive, liberal arts format state school in Missouri. Keep in mind though, that you have to have other things to offer besides a nice SAT score. Lots of extracurriculars always look good, as does a good GPA with honors or AP courses. I took all the honors and AP classes I could and didn't always get A's, but colleges would rather see a B in an AP/Honors class than an A in a regular class.
Best of luck!

Well, that depends on what College specifically u want to get into. The UC system usually requires no lower than a 2200 on the NEW SAT I. But its important to know that SATs are only one part of the application process. Many other factors (extracurricular activites, leadership, team sports, etc.) are also factored in. Its possible to get into a good college without scoring perfect on the SATs!

well based on the new grading system 2400 being a perfect score about 1600 is a good score to get in to some colleges but if you plan to go to a really good university like harvard 1800 would be good search the college you want to go and they will give you an average entry score for sat

well, the higher the better! There is so much that colleges look at other than your SAT scores......for example, they may have to have a certain number of minority students....so if you score higher than someone but that someone is in the minority that the school needs, they will get in before you will, even though you scored higher. So, just aim high and hope for the best....and don't get too stressed out.

Depends on what school you are trying to get into and what major. If you just want to get into college, it won't matter much if you go to one of your state supported schools. Most will give you a chance unless you are at rock bottom.
