Caller ID blocking? Isn't that just like the phone companies? They charge you to give you caller ID lookup. Then they turn around and allow the other guy to block his caller ID. What a scam. And usually it's the ones that block their caller IDs that you really need to know the number of.

Anyway. Now that I got that off my chest, you can ask the operator to help you with this if that other caller repeatedly calls you as if it's a crank call. But if it's just one call that you're curious about, then you're out of luck.

Or you can do this: ignore ALL calls without caller IDs and tell all your friends to turn off their blocking when calling you. Also say on your outgoing message that you're available but are just monitoring calls. If they're real friends and/or if it's that important, they'll unblock the ID or leave a message.

That person most have their number blocked, but most phone systems have a feature called "anonymous call block" if you enact this it will force the person to allow the number to be displayed when they call you.
