i think if the parent(s) and the son/daughter are all okay with the situation then it should be fine.

I don't really think that one is better than the other. I think it depends on the circumstances. I mean, there are circumstances where it's really honorable for an adult child to live at home. For example, taking care of a sick parent is very respectable.

If I had to choose, I would say a male because most females are more picky about who they date than males are. :P

Objectively there's no difference.

Culturally I think a male living with his parents is worse. Most cultures expect a male to go out and be independent sooner. Those same cultures tend to tolerate a female living with her parents until she gets married.

I'm personally of the opinion that everyone should live alone and be self sufficient for at least a couple of years before getting married.

I don't think either is worse. I am 28 and moved out just a few months ago; however, I lived with my dad and grandma for a couple years, then moved out into my own place for a year and had to move back in with my mom because I got fired and was having money trouble.

I think it's perfectly okay to live with your parents if they don't mind you being there. If you're not paying rent, though, you should contribute somehow - yardwork, housework, etc. And you should maintain your outside social life as well and always be striving to get out on your own.

It's when you aren't trying to get out on your own and are milking the situation that it becomes a sad and pathetic problem.

I am also glad I got to spend time with my little bro (who is 11 years younger than me). It was nice to be able to be around for him as he got older. He's only 16, but I really miss hanging out with him at mom's house.

males... because in my culture as is with traditional cultures, the man is expected to go out and find his mate while the female sits pretty waiting to be discovered like a cinderella story. plus the male is expected to bring the girl home so the weight of having one's own place really lies on the males.

an adult male because men are always saying that they are more capable than women so they should get off their asses and make some money to buy an apartment.

men
because they are afraid to take responsibilty. They want toys, not grown up lives.
seems every man over 24 that i have met who still lives at home is a huge momma's boy and/or gay

When a female still lives at home, it usually because she is furthering her education, taking care of child(ren) (because deadbeat dad wants to live w/ momma) or she is taking care of parents.
