It would appear that this is true, just look at their die hard power base of rednecks and people who see NASCAR drivers as athlete's, and have the same vocabulary as George Bush.

Republicans use simple slogans...they are also clear ideas.
It's hard for the Democrats to say "I voted for the war before I voted against it" or "we want to raise taxes on the rich, by the rich I mean anyone who makes more than $50,000, and spend it on whatever we feel like because we know how to spend your money better than you do" in a short slogan.
Democrats have slogans like "always follow the French", "Christians should just shut up", "Redstaters are all racists", "Taxes are good!" and "The Government knows best". They just can't use them and get elected.

hmmmm whats more simple minded than the republicans are for the rich and the democrats for the poor........Liberals think with they're hearts which lacks common sense. A lack of common sense is the bases of a simple mind.
