Nope. Too much like what happens in real life. I wouldn't want to buy it/read it. Sounds depressing anyway.

I think I'd go for a different title. Schitzo gives away too much. It's a fairly conventional premise so you are going to have to count on details to make it different. You also have to make the characters people your readers will care about. Here's a quote from Stuart Spencer cautioning about writing about people with mental illnesses. "When we watch a genuinely insane person, we are not watching that person at all. Their words and behaviour are not emerging from the person but from the disease." The same applies to possession. What would make this story work is if you show the struggle between the real person and the devil or the disease as the case may be. Also show what the family goes through trying to cope with this individual. Just being killed doesn't make somebody interesting. We have to know them and care about them first. How will they find out that it was Satan? What is Satan going to do next?

I am not attempting to be harsh or dishonest with you in anyway, however this whole idea of "hearing voices" and "Satan" being responsible for such evil actions is over used and dead. You should look into formulating more authentic, realistic, and above all original plots. Everyone loves a story with a twisted ending, although many of us are weary of the hearing voices telling someone to kill their family scenario. I am not stating that such an idea is shallow, it has been beaten like a dead horse. Perhaps the story will unfold and you will discover minor details which will help the characters develop. There is always room for creativity, and with writing, anything is possible. No limitations exist when it comes to writing. Good luck with your story!!

It makes no sense, even as a horror thriller. How do "they find out it was Satan"? Did he leave a note? If your protagonist is committed to an asylum, he or she'd be medicated on anti-psychotic drugs until he or she was unable to stay awake, or until the voices stop. Or is the asylum in league with the devil? Or ist all a dream? Or......
My point is that an outlandish premise must be supported by realistic, logical details or else the necessary suspension of disbelief won't occur. Rework it, or drop it.

Best place to start for untested writers .... write what you know.
It will come out more "real" feeling.
If you love playing video games .... then write about someone who loves video games and make up a plot to go with it. Or music, or sports .. or whatever it is YOU know and love.
Then just write ... an outline is good ... but keep it loose. Just write, and keep writing. Don't edit, just write. Let the story take you where it wants to go. When you think you are done ... then go through and do a first edit. You will probably do several edits. The end result may not be anything like you thought it might be, but it will probably be just what it needs to be!
Good luck and happy writing!

It seems a tiny bit er... overdone... it's too much in one story.
You might want to leave the end a bit more unclear, so no one ever knows it was satan, except the smart readers who figured it out....

good rough idea, but seems semi overdone. Keep working on it and you'll come up with a twist that will make it stand out!
