There are no snakes in Ireland. New Zealand has no snakes. Jamaica has no snakes. The reasons differ.

For Ireland and NZ, there are no snakes because during the last ice age, the snakes were wiped out and they couldn't migrate elsewhere. For Jamaica, it is because the Indian Mongoose was imported into the island and they wiped out the snakes.

Yes there are snakes in Ireland, um in the zoo?
Anyway the thing with St Patrick(English, he was not an Irish man) chasing the snakes out of Ireland is to do with the druids and their symbol of power. The druids symbol is the snake chasing it's own tail, thus saying that life is ever lasting, nothing dies. Ireland would have the religion of her ancestors today, Paganism, had it not been for St paddy introducing Christianity.

Yes, and the crap about St. Patrick chasing all the poisnous ones away is false. The poisonous snakes from Ireland died out hundreds of years before St. Patrick.

Is the sun in the sky? Do we breath oxygen? Does the moon come up at night? I'd say "yes".
