A sleeping bag is pretty much the same thing as a pillowcase. First, decide how you want the sleeping bag to look, is it quilted, is it lightweight fabric or heavy, is the bottom side extended past the top edge to put a pillow? Maybe look up sleeping bags online to get an idea of what you want to do.

Beyond that, its really simple: cut out two pieces of fabric in the shape you've decided on, sew then together, turn inside out (so the seams are on the inside). Voila!

Decide on the material you want to use for the sleeping bag, buy some stuffing. Insert the stuffing, line up the fabric, don't forget the zippers, needle & thread and have at it.
