I would say no, and I believe the American public will show that when the finalists have their first albums out and Taylor's is 4th out of the Idol artists. it's not winning the competition, that only takes friends calling repeatedly for two hours. it's selling gold and platinum records that should be the truest test.

SOUL PATROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Taylor paid his dues in the clubs. He knows how to play to the audience. He is not a cookie cutter, pre-fab idol. Music is lacking nowadays. I hope he does music justice by not conforming to the the pop idol ideal. All top forty right now is fomulaic. Hopefully, Taylor brings out realism in music again!

No. I wanted Chris to win. I like everything about him.
But I like the winner. Taylor is a cool guy with a great voice and a unique style.

No, I liked what's-her-fu*k better. That dude looks like Jay Leno and he's not so great. I also wasn't thrilled with Fantasia Barone. I liked that pink-haired singer - Amy (who was cut).

honestly i dont - taylor hicks may have been quirky but reallly he is very one dimensional - i loved catherine mcfee and chris was amazing as well - they had more talent in their little fingers than taylor will ever have.
