I was diagnosed with ADD and can barely work at a job for more than a few months before getting bored of it. Although most people can get bored at their job and still do it well, my production falls off greatly and I wind up either quiting or getting fired. Does anyone know what would be a good occupation for a college educated person with ADD?

I have some friends with ADD that do jobs working with their hands - I know you're college educated, but you might consider a trade or skill that keeps you physically engaged - don't let the college education slow you down, if you are not suited for sitting behind a desk, consider something more your pace. I don't have any expertise on this subject so this is just an idea.

Maybe sales or something where you are out on the road so things are constantly changing? I have it too and find that if I devote blocks of time to different tasks, keep switching the task I'm doing at timed intervals, I can get things done without getting bored. Just don't forget to go back and finish up what you started!

Probably a job that allows you to use your creativity. Maybe some kind of event planner. You would probably do well with a job that involved a lot of short-term projects. Having acutal projects to do may give you some variety, each one will probably be different enough to keep you interested.
Your situation sounds like it is very problematic., perhaps in other areas of your life too. MAybe you can do exercises that build your concentration skills. I would also suggest (if your not already) changing your diet to a diet rich in wholesome foods and avoiding processed foods and excessive sweets. Exercising can also be very effective with controlling your ADD symptoms.

Real Estate, Self employment, Sales, Bus Driver, Subway Driver, Travel Agent, Stock Broker, basically a job where you see different people everyday -otherwise you're going to get bored.

You might do well in position where you're faced with people, not numbers.

So something like a sales position or psychology counselor might work.
