there shells weigh twice as much as they do, but they can swim pretty fast

They may not be as fast as a dog or some other animal but you'd be surprised how fast they go if you take your eye off of them for a minute! I had a turtle. I think it's shell slows it down.

because THEY ARE TURTLES! Although, have you ever seen a Snapper going for the neighborhood cat? MAN are they FAST!

Could you run fast with that short of legs and your house on your back ?? I think they're just mellow animals, too, never in a hurry.
