"The reason I keep insisting that there was a relationship between Iraq and al-Qaeda is because (smirking) there was a relationship between Iraq and al-Qaeda."
-- Dubya, November 1, 2002,

"The president back then said there's no demonstrated link between Saddam and 9-11, and we're never going to make that argument, and he never has."
-- Tony Snow, claiming Dubya never linked 9-11 and Saddam,

The Bush Administration has used an interesting method to say one thing and mean another. Like the comments of Bush in his joint statement with the Leader of Austria. Talking about Iran, he boldly states that America is transparent in it's govermental conduct. We all know about NSA Thing, the FISA Court, the Cheney meeting with the heads of the oil companies, the Plame affair including the yellow cake statements made by the President in the STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH and so forth.
And, can anyone deny that Bush loves a secret any secret, and where I come from, America, secrets are not transparent. So Bush or Tony ShowBusiness may say it, but that doesn't make it true.

The two are not related AT ALL.

It is WELL KNOWN that Iraq had a relationship with Al-Qaeda.

The President never said that Saddam had anything to do with 9/11

Just because Al-Qaeda had the relationship with Iraq doesn't mean Saddam had something to do with 9/11.

What's really funny is that people DON'T GET THIS! This scenario is always used to say that Bush lied... BUT you are taking two entirely different situations and trying to make an argument out of it.

"Iraq and al-Qaeda"
"between Saddam and 9-11"

Snow said "Saddam" in your quote from Bush he says "Iraq" not "Saddam". Saddam is a person, Iraq is a country.

It's semantics.

Are you trying to imply that a "relationship" and a "demonstrated link" are the same thing? Are you another one of those knee-jerk liberals who think 8 gazzilion dollars and hundreds of other people's lives is too much for a Texas boy to spend defending his Daddy?

Does it really matter, people just accept whatever is said. The only reply they give is MOOOOO. The president can say what ever he want no one cares. If you like him all you care about is that he is trying to get rid of abortion, getting back prayer in school. If you don't like him no mater what he says its wrong. So he can do what ever he wants unchecked.
