Check with a Nova club or website link below. Someone should have production statistics.

It's possible you have an SS, and it's also possible that the previous owner of your car scrounged an emblem from somewhere and slapped it on.

If you really want to know if it's an SS, the SS was produced with a certain type of engine and a very specific set of interior and exterior options. I'd check with your local Chevy or hotrod club; the people there ought to know your make and year of car backwards and forwards, and they'll be able to tell which it is.

Take the VIN number to a dealer that doesn't have his head up his *** and is willing to take a moment to research it for you. The SS became a separate model in later years and that should be revealed in the VIN. Or do a little snooping around the Nova websites.

They actually stopped making the SS models in 1976 check your vin tag under the hood on the driver side onthe firewall run those number and they will tell you where it was built, what the orig. color was, and the interior color also, what year it is and so on and so forth...... some SS cars came with bench seats & 6 cylinder engines so the best answer to you question is too run the numbers.

They made the SS model until 76 when the gov. standards changed and fuel consumption became the big deal. As for specific items in the SS package that's not always the case, I have seen a lot of plain basic interiors in them as well as a lot of them produced with 2 barrel carbs during the mid-70's.

They did not stop making them in 72. I had a 73 and a 74, both SS. Unfortunately, they are not that rare (or they weren't 15 years ago when I had them!).
