When changing rear drums on a car do the new drums need balancing?

when i removed the old drums only the driver side drum had weights.. i have a 97 pontiac sunfire..

they are balanced by the manufacturer before you get them. Even if one of the weights happens to fall off, you wouldnt notice it.

Not likely.

The mass and centrifugal rotational diameter of the drums is large enough or fast enough to cause an out of balance condition that you would notice or would have any effect of the brake operation.
