she's gotten into the habit of eating nuts and seeds and milk and cereal. When I offer her dinner such as carrot/chicken ravioli she whine and falls off her chair and refuses to eat.
She'll do this all the time even if we don't give her what she wants. Her meals are healthy, no chips, soda, cookies, candy, fries.
She use to eat broccoli, cauliflower, chicken, guava.
Now I cant even get her to eat pizza or macaroni when I test her.
You want to talk about picky eater, here she is.
Any solid, detailed, advice???

BTW, she doesnt get a lot of liquids so its not filling her up.
I work full-time and she's with daddy and I know he's not as strict as I am, even if he was, she will whine herself to sleep.

I am a mother of three children, so believe me, I can tell you all about picky eating habits. The key to all of this is patience and understanding. Children will eat when they are ready. I know this is worrisome for you as a new mother. My son was very thin and we(o.k. mostly me) struggled with worry over it. He eventually grew older and now he is a strapping, healthy eight year- old. Try not to stress over this. Relax. Make eating fun and inventive for her by introducing new colorful foods or textured foods on fun plates. Although, I would not use food as an entertainment piece. This is a tough habit to break. Remember toddler's tummies are very small, about the size of their little fists. These food jags will not last, believe me. Sometimes I think little ones get overwhelmed by everything that is going on, smells, tastes, sounds. I would make eating as relaxed and stress-free as possible by reducing sound level and give her subtle cues like softly spoken encouragement that this is eating time. Good luck.

My 22 month old has been doing this lately too. She's obsessed with goldfish crackers and bananas. It is all she will eat!! The doctor suggested at least giving her half of a flintstone vitamin once a day to at least replace some of the vitamins she's missing. The doctor also said, take what you can get in terms of their eating. If she wants to eat off your plate, let her. Try putting an ounce of juice in with some water in her cup, she might like that better than plain water or milk.

lots of kids go through stages where they decide they don't want something when all before that they were eating it.all you can do is ride through it,still put those things on her plate and if she doesn't eat it offer her something else healthy later.don't give in to her temper tantrums,if you give in you're just showing her she has the power. eventually she will come around especially if you are eating the same foods she is, i'm assuming you have her starting on solids by now.just be patient, that's the key and tell hubbby to be patient as well, you both have to be doing this to make it work. if she is still on the baby food she may be telling you in her own way that she is ready for a more solid food diet.if you have concerns call her dr and discuss it with him/her.

Well Like the other person said, kids do go through stages of not wanting to eat anything you want. They will eat when they are hungry and decide when they are full enough. If you get too concerned, call your family doctor and express your concerns to him/her and see what he suggests to you. I wouldnt worry unless she doesnt get enough liquid during the day. Avoid dehydration mainly, they will know when they are hungry, faster then thristy. And if you feel she isnt getting all her vitamins and minerals she needs daily, get her some daily vitamins that are chewable, like Flintsone Chewables. Also get Pedisure, it tastes like vanilla/chocolate milk and kids dont know they are drinking healthy stuff. Good Luck!

Don't worry all kids go thru a stage in their lives where they only eat 2-3 things. She won't starve, as long as she is getting plenty of milk and juice and water. She will start to try new things when she is 3-4 years old, and will eat things you never thought she would even try. Kids will never starve themselves. As long as they are having good bowel movements and voiding regularly then nothing to worry about

I have a silly answer: divert her attention during feeding-time. Diversion could be a story, her favorite TV show or anything else that gets her attention. While she's focused and diverted, in goes the spoon.
