I am unable to go to the doctor due to NO insurance but I am nearly going to be 29 and I heard that if you lose weight you will get pregnant

I shot up from a size 0 to 18 in 6 months thanks to PCOS.

I've been this size since 1994.

You need to speak to your DR about Metformin (glucophage)...it is a diabetic medicine, but it works well with PCOS because it helps your metabolism work like it used to.

See, PCOS makes you somewhat insulin resistant, therefore, everything you eat turns to fat, which equals rapid weight gain.

I am still heavy because my insurance wouldn't cover the metformin, and my family physician will not bill it as insulin problems instead of infertility...and I've been pregnant twice...so I'm not infertile. Crazy.

Best of luck to you!

I have pcos and I lost weight and got pregnant, but I was also taking metformin. A lot of women with pcos do not ovulate, I didn't. For some reason the metformin helps me. You really need to know if you are insulin resistant, because that would let you know the best way for you to lose weight. If you are then a diet for diabetics works best. I basically follow that and I also exercise and I'm losing weight. But, again, I'm also taking metformin. It is seriously a miracle drug for me and a lot of other pcos sufferers. I really wish you could try it out! Good luck with the weight loss!
