I am straight edge and wouldn't be if I didn't believe it was right. I don't get involved in the actual community due to the fact that they are basically all "Labelers". In my opinion, straight edge is more than a label and is nothing you should pose to be. I've done my research and read my books about the history of straight edge and it's connection with hardcore and in the past straight edge was a great thing. It wasn't a movement.. it was a lifestyle and a very pure one.
I admire the straight edgers of the 80's. I'm sure most of them dropped their straight edge lifestyle due to the 90's fascination of labeling.. since then straight edge has got more of a bad name than emo but the only true way to find real straight edgers is to actually take that name in and believe it. Don't just say it.. live it.

Personally I think that Straight edge people are do-gooder neo nazis, who are devoted to clean living. If they are not.. then why do they want to look and dress like them with the shaved heads, doc Martens and agressive heavy metal music.

Do you mean people who don't even think about breaking the law, maybe are humorless, tasteless, boring? I'm not sure. Even if they are this way, I still respect them. They have their morals and ethics. That's more than I can say for some people.
