Other cultures across the world, with India being one example, often rely on arranged marriages, and consider romantic love an unimportant factor in a marriage bond. What do you think? Would you let your parents arrange a marriage for you, perhaps with someone you never even met?

No, I'm Indian, and I could never accept that, it does not intersect with my philosophy. Of course, in romantic love you have to be prepared for the initial attraction to fade with time, but that's ok, you can still have a wonderful relationship left afterwards. I'm a firm believer in romantic love.

No, arranged marriages are barbaric and obsolete in this day and age. Remember too, women in those circles have no rights, so it's a mans world. And we all know men, as long as they have a permanant piece.... well you get it, then they're happy.

Well I'm grown and already married. No I would not let my parents arrange my marriage and I would not arrange my kids marriage.

they aren't necessarilly better because if you can't choose you leave it up to your parents to find someone for you to spend the rest of your life with and parents don't always pick the right person. Yopu should be able to pick who you want to marry so you can make sure you have things in common and get along because if you don't it won't work out

no i wouldnt be open to that at all - my mother is very religious and it would not be a pretty thing at all.
i think love and romance are both important in a relationship - and maturity.
