Mermaids. I love water and think it would be neat to be able to live in it.

My favourite mytholical creatures are the chickcharnies, centaur and mermaid. The common thread is that all are part human. The chickcharnies(half bird , half men) do not like to be laughed at and mete out a punishment to mockers. My Biology teacher got me to cycle 5-10 miles willingly -a rarity for my classmates and me- because we were going to the Mermaid's pool to see a mermaid comb her golden hair. One strand of hair would make us rich for life! We had bicycle trouble so we missed her. However we had fun as we visited a cave, got bat specimen, later had fun at the beach and saw flying fish.Intrigue still works as people are curious. I like horses so a centaur has the human and horse aspect.I grew up in the era of the Junior Classics with Greek and Roman mythology, radio and not television,CDS,iPods, computers etc. so reading and using my imagination was a joy.

a hyppogryph. Can't tell ya' why really, they're just much cooler to me than some of the other traditional loved things.

It's a horses head, gryphon wings, with either lions feet or a scaley mammal tale, like a dolphin. Although I've seen the mammal tale more often than liony feet.

An absolutely useless creature that serves no purpose but to look magical. I can imagine the tale would hamper their winged flight, and the wings would hamper the watery swimming.

just chaluk it up there with some Australian Aboriginy mythy spirits.

I like dragons, elves, and wizards (which are not necessarily human). These are western figures, but in eastern mythology, the line between myth and history depends upon your devotional perspective. There are ten avatars of Vishnu which are considered myth by some, but those whose faith and understanding are deeply connected, no need exists to separate the figures and forms that appear in the realm of mental perception in faith and the mental perception in the world or reality. For these ardent devotees, the two are the same, so "myth" is itself an understated concept which doesn't really grasp their level of experience. They already know and see and understand the beings as real and even more real than so-called "objective" entities in the world of sense perceptions.

Honest Politicians.
I am in awe of the idea of someone who could set out to feed at the public trough, and NOT turn into a pig. It has to be the most amazing piece of self-delusion ever.
I thought I saw an Honest Politician, once, because he didn't seem to be interested in lining his pockets with my money. But he turned out to be a pig, just the same, only interested in power more than gold.
I understand some politicians (the run-of-the-mill, garden variety) are into sex. Some are into possessions. Some are into prestige.
But I have yet to meet that mythological Honest Politician.
Perhaps one day.

I've only heard of these, of course, I've never actually SEEN one, but I read about a mythological creature who is male. Apparently he has habits like cleaning up after himself, and you know, taking out trash and stuff.
Very eerie. In fact, I think it would be more creepy to actually encounter one than just think on it.

Dragons....I have read so many books that have made them true hero's of the underdog or nasty foul beasts. I think to see one flying across a harvest moon or out of a misty field up a mountain to it's lair would be a sight to watch. A dragon doing battle, the noise the fire , the rage....ah yes my favorite mythological pal!

My favourite mythological creature is a centaur. I just love them, the way they look the and they way they're potraid. How they've survived over time through legands and sories. I like how they just seem... majestic (kinda fits since horses are supost to be majestic, LOL).

Plus, they're BEAUTIFUL!

i love all mythological creatures, but my favorite would have to fairies because they are so beautiful and so in touch with nature. I also love dragons because they are powerful and they breathe fire.

Fairy godmother,
because they're depicted as a kind granny who has a magical wand that will grant you wishes.

Fairies,
because they look light, pretty, and that they can fly in the woods and green forests where the surroundings are clean and beautiful. Just feel happy whenever I think of one.

People of the Fae.
they are very mysterious, at least to me, and tend to be interesting creatures.
