Here is a cool trick. When you divide any number(smaller than 9) by 9, or mulitple nines, the answer is a repeating decimal using that very number, following the number of 9's in the divisor.
Example: 1/9= .11111...
2/9= .22222...
2/99 = .02020202...
The more 9's the bigger the repeating sequence.
Your example has 5 9's, so the sequence is 5 spaces, ending with one:
1/99999 = .000010000100001...
(Just following suit):
2/99999 would equal .0000200002...

With all due respect to "Team Teacher," she is wrong in this case. It is true that any number divided by one equals the same number, but one divided by a number is equal to something else. In other words, 2/1=2, but 1/2=0.5. See the difference. The shortest way to divide this is dependent upon your circumstances: if you must do it by hand, well, then i am sorry, but long division is probably the shortest way of doing it. If you can use a calculator, then that is the shortest way to do it.
