DSL is a signal sent over the phone or cable line. No Phone, need cable.

You could try to set up a community wireless network. Basically: one person or business is broadband connected (via cable or dsl) and also has a wireless router. Everyone connects to the router. It's a bit more involved than that but that's essentially it.

Satellite doesn't work without a phone line (for uploads), unless you want to pay vast sums for satellite phone calls.

You need a phone connection for DSL, no way around that. If your phone bills are large, or don't want all the extras phone charges, set up a phone line as Universal Life, that is the dead min. of cost,

DSL is a way to connect to the internet without making the phone busy. it has more speed than the normal dial-up but it is more expensive than the dial-up u can share it with more than 1 person if you live in a building but more persons are in less speed is found

some places have wireless DSL, where you have an antenae at your house that picks up the signal, like a router, and teh hardwire for the router to your pc

i dont think thats possible. you need a phone jack, not phone service though.
