Well, cocaine was very popular in the 70s and early 80s. It was an extremely common party drug and more socially acceptable than today.

Then crack cocaine was invented and much cheaper to make around the 80s. I think, I am not completely sure, but I think you cook cocaine with something to make the rocks? It was also more addictive than cocaine. Hence the two reasons it became popular.

That depends on what you mean by problem. It is no secret that the speculation around the problems with drugs are far bigger than they actually are. Most of the so called problems are caused from it being illegal. I think we will see a legalization of some drugs when the government figures out how to cash in on it.

Just about the time our administration decided to declare it as such...blaming poor black mothers for a non-existent crack baby epidemic...whooeee!!

in the 1930s.. before that they used to prescribe coke.. herion and opium for ance and other problems.. people began to get hooked and thats when the gov't began investigating
