I need to know, do you think the death penalty is right? Especially for simple cases like, drugs, etc.?

well, still believes that no matter what a person did, no one has the right to take his life away from him. life was god-given and only god can take that away... putting a person in jail is reasonable enough so that he wont be able to do crimes anymore, but death sentence? i dont think so.. thats simply barbaric...

I have always been an opponent of the death penalty. However, with today's DNA evidence it is much easier to prove that you have arrested the right person for the crime. My opposition was always based on the fact that too many people sentenced to death did not commit the crime and look at how many have been freed by new DNA testing. I still don't think that taking a life is an idea that I like, I guess if the crime is bad enough, people like me would have no say anyway.
but than doesn't that make us as bad as they are?

I like your "qualification" of "simple cases" like drugs, etc." How did you ever come to the conclusion that "drugs" was a simple case. You obviously haven't done any police work, have you?! Well, why don't you go to some police training academy, and if, and I emphasize IF you can pass it, then try to work your way up past rookie traffic duty to SWAT team work, and then come back and ask your question, if you still have one like that. I doubt you will. And to answer your question which you conveniently leave vague, yeah, I do believe in the death penalty and wish we had more mature adults in the world that would also see what I see. They'd have it "legal" in every State starting a hundred years ago. God, yes I said God, Bless you.

My opinion is that the death penalty should be allowed for the following cases, ONLY if it has been proven, without any doubt, that the individual is 100% guilty such as a complete confession, caugth on film, guaranteed eye witness(s), DNA, etc. But, it MUST be 100% accurate:
MURDER
DRUNK DRIVING - in circumstances where this person has been charged in the past with this offence and has either injured or killed people on previous occassions
RAPISTS
CHILD MOLESTERS who have murdered the child, whether on purpose or not
TERRORISTS - where it has been proven that they have been directly involved in a terrorist act
That's my opinion.. and everybody has one.

A friend of mine brother was killed along with three of his friends. His girlfriend escaped. The were held captive, sexually abused, beaten, and then dragged out into the snow in the middle of know where and shot. Somehow his girlfriend escaped running naked thru the snow with her hands tied behind her back. She is has two different types of STD's, is not able to have children, and wakes up from nightmares from this. It is hard form me to say that I don't want to see these two people dead that took this beautiful human being away from us. But it is proven that we spend more of our tax dollars on inmates on the death penalty than on a life sentence. Let them sit there and think about what they did for the rest of there lives.

i think there should be death penalty but of course the person on has to be proven 100% guilty
And for those ppl who think its bad idea to take life which god have given each nd all of us think abt it if u ar teen nd u got brutally raped nd u also got pregnant i am pretty sure u or ur parents gonna kill that guy if the government don't at that time ur parent or u won't be saying "its is not right to take life which the god has created"

The Death Penalty does not work, as it doesn't deter people. It does give a sense of closure to those who were hurt and affected by the person who will be executed and that's it.

For capital offenses yes. The fact it takes so long to perform the deed is a little annoying.
