Have you been taking any prescription medication for a prolonged period of time? I was a caregiver for a 78 year old man and he suddenly began to have overly sensitive and painful nipples. The doctor said it was due to some medication and he discontinued that medication - the pain went away.

Good luck!

Are you breastfeeding? If so that might be why.

If you are almost getting your period or in mid cycle youe nipples &/or your breasts may hurt.

If you are really concerned & it does not go away please see a doctor.
