Horror = the shining ( though the book was scarier!), the Texas Chainsaw Massacre ( i hit my boyfriend repeatedly after he made me watch this!) and IT(ditto with the book being better but whoa!, hate clowns now!)
Comedy = the sweetest thing (just cause i remember waking the entire house through laughing :) ) Lair, Lair ( Jim C. is a genius!)

House of WAX? Best horror movie ever? Scary Movie 3? Best comedy ever? This truly scares me. I just f ucking threw up in my mouth! How in the would can you even gauge the best movies EVER in those categories when you obviously aren't even aware of anything that was made before 2000? Jesus. See more movies, please.
Here. I'll give you 2:
Best Horror Movie EVER: Texas Chainsaw Massacre. No contest. No frills. No actors. No budget. No effects. Just HORROR.
Best Comedy EVER (this is a little tougher): Have to go with Caddyshack. A forever classic.
Start with those two movies, then ask me later for some more titles. You have a lot of movie watching ahead of you if you want to have any understanding of what a 'good' movie really is.
Sorry. I realize people have their own opinions, and I really do respect them. But, my God, your choices were just really, really, REALLY awful.
@ HELL YES. Good choice with The Shining. It's a close 2nd.

I think one of the best horror movies that I've ever seen was "The Howling ".God,that movie scared the s*** out of me when i was a kid! still does a little to this day! lol.The part where the guy turns into the werewolf and kills the reporter in the shrienks office....wow! that was scary! lol.Athough, the end was really dumb because the werewolf that Dee Wallace Stone turned into didn't look like a werewolf at all but kind of a cross between a bear and a stuffed animal!.Best Comedy....." Sorority Boys " was funny.Hope you like my answers.Melissa Kelly :)

Halloween - as it's an original old scary flick, and it scared me so much at age 12 I stayed up all night with the light on! XD
Ace Ventura made me laugh loads when I was younger, and still puts me in a good happy mood when I watch it now. Not many films can do that! XD
