I read some of the answers you have recieved and I think the reason some are being "MEAN and RUDE" to you is that they feel like what you have asked is arrogent---people are people no matter what a test score says---You built a wall with your question --and people are not willing to jump so high --we all judge others by how they present themselve's and by your saying "you search and find nothing and feel lonely" makes you sound as tho you are in search of ONLY those wothty of your test score--Not that its the case but thats how you projected the question---
I dont think IQ score's have anything to do with what kind of humanitarian you are ---and if you are lonely you need to maybe just try and be a person that wants to help others and be a friend to them reguardless where they stand on a IQ scale--A smart man knows who to befriend and who to turn away --they follow thier heart not a score--You are young and you are still learning I feel that you will see that you will fit in nicely in the things you want when you are an adult--IF you learn that people dont care how much money you make or how smart you are or even what you look like---as long as you are a trusting, caring, loving friend --thats all that really matters
God Bless you in finding yourself at the real level in life

Well, if you're 16 and have an IQ of 176 that means, you have the same intelligence like an average 28-year-old person (16 x 1.76 = 28). That is possible, as many of the people posting questions in this place and giving stupid answers are 28 or even older (or aren't you ??). You should look for a special school with a special support and special additional IQ tests.
Furthermore, taking an IQ test gives even more evidence to your intelligence, as people testing their intelligence do have a particular concern to it, which increases their meaning and should increase their valuation. I think, this is worth at least one more point, making a total IQ of 177. What do you think?

Hi Megami. I am an intellectual but with a much more modest iq in the 97th percentile, though I am looking for someone with a very high iq to check some of my work in Decipherment. A mentor of mine has had an iq of about 180 or 185 (fluent in seven languages, 2 PhDs, many licences, amature boxer, Pilot, ect...). Also Check out Paul Cooijmans high iq societies and tests, he has been the highest iq test scorer, as far as I know. Also check out Kim Peek. I am facinated by intelligence abilities and also knew someone who had an iq in the 170s.
Nobody has taken my work in Decipherment seriously, because nobody(that I've met casually) has either the time or the intellect to understand it. my yahoo email user name is david_89793, feel free to contact me. I have a friend in New York who has a high iq but I am not sure what his is, probably 155 or higher. Take care, Dave

Last time I checked, I had a 120 IQ, and that was when I was 11 or 12. And that's pretty darn good, got me into the gifted program. Mensa's the only way to go for information on geniuses, and you have to have a 180 to get in. You might have a higher IQ than that, but the test wasn't created with geniuses in mind, and you hit the ceiling. Happened with Marilyn vos Savant, she's supposedly the smartest person in the world, and no one knows what her IQ is. Maybe you could ask her, I guess.

When I was in 3rd grade and getting so bored I was able to pass the year-end test after the first month of school because I had already read the text book, my mom was asked to have my IQ tested. At that time it was 160. I was placed in a gifted program and was still bored out of my skull but my parents didn't have the money for a private school but too much money to get grants for me to go to one.
In the 5th grade I was tested again and got 167. One again I was put in a gifted program and once again I was bored.
To make a long story short, when I was in the 8th grade, I took the Mensa test and passed with flying colors not to mention the test only took me three hours. My dad took it right after me and not only did he not pass (even though he is incredibly smart) but it took him 6 hours to complete.
I have no idea what my current IQ is nor am I even all that curious. I know that I am smart and that is all I need. Be happy that you have the gift of intelligence and don't waste it. Find something you love to do and apply that bloated cranium to the task and succeed.
Anyone who makes fun of you for it is probably jealous anyway.

You don't exactly need to find someone with the same IQ. I think that you should find someone with the same personality that you have. You probably think that if you can't find a person with your IQ, then you can't find a person with your personality either. Well, you will find someone some day in your life and your loneliness will go away. Don't bother with the people that say mean things such as nerd. I get that too but I never listen. I'm going to remember the name Megami because you will definately become something brilliant some day.

In kindergarten, we were tested in groups and my IQ was 168.
I just completed an on-line IQ test, tickle-inc.com, and it came out as 131. Granted, there was potential when I was five years old and some of that might have been wasted in the meantime (practically 50 years) and the tests are different (and test different parts of intelligence), but that's still a bit drop
Also, since the brain operates on estrogen, a female can expect a certain drop...
Keep at it. Don't be shy or ashamed of your mental capacity. This society does laugh at us smart women.

My IQ is 152, and that's pretty high. 176 is almost unheard of, normal is much lower.
IQ only denotes our capacity to learn, not how much we actually know. Some people with high IQ walk the streets selling cans to get by, and then some people with lower than average IQ become presidents of the United States.*(see current Administration)
Use what you have to the best of your ability, and have fun while your at it.

I don't have an answer about people with IQs of 176, but I *can* add two observations:
1) People are lazy, and don't like to take people on their own merits. If they can find a reason to discredit someone's opinion. character, or intelligence, or character, even if it has nothing to do with the topic at hand, be it age, religion, orientation, etc, they will. It's easier to dismiss somebody when they're gay, or atheist, or sixteen, Welsh, or whatever they happen to be, than to actually consider someone's opinion seriously, or even treat them with common decency.
2)Individual people can be really kind and nice, but people as a group tend to be rude and stupid towards others, especially on the Internet. In the offline world, if you're rude to someone, you can get yelled at, punched in the face, or at least feel bad (assuming one has at least a particle of decency in him or her).
Online, such consequences don't really exist, so the tendency to be a jerk to others is given free rein (at least for people who don't have enough of a conscience to be decent to people, even online)
What does this have to do with this question? It has more to do with the fact that most of the responses to this questions are examples of the two observations I'm pointing out. People are being lazy-minded, preferring to dismiss someone because of her age, and being jerks online because they don't have to worry about getting punched in the face by a user on Yahoo! Answers. If somehow, you COULD get punched in the face on Y!A, it's likely that there'd be a lot of bloody noses, and a lot less rude people on it. And kudos for those who've actually given a serious answer and didn't let their inner jerk take them over.
