trying to install SP2. Installation starts, appears to run OK, then a window popped up that said Service Pack 2 Installation Access is Denied. It then takes you through the Uninstallation Wizard which I did. Finally, Service Pack 2 Setup Error Service Pack 2 installation did not complete. Windows XP has been partially updated and may not work properly so i restart and it works fine but it did not install like i tryed it agian and aagin and it still says access is denied...

This happens when you have not registered your Operating System and/or you have unregistered Microsoft products such as Microsoft Office. You will need to register your products and try again.

register windows if you did Buy a anti spyware program and a anti-virus program run them and then rerun sp2 Good luck!

Why try a lost cause?

Delete the corrupted one, download a new one.

Or download the developer one and try that.
