He was born & raised in Texas. Some people who live in other places will lose their accent. I have a strong southern accent, much more than my brothers & sister - we were all raised together & live within 10 miles of each other. Some people pick up accents more than others. If I spend a lot of time with my friends from out west, I get a weird accent. His Mom definitely has an accent.

Half my family has a Wisconsin accent- because they live there. I have a cousin with a hispanic accent, because she grew up in Miami. I have a brother in San Francisco with no accent. My other brother and I are told we have Southern accents.
It just happens- you pick up the dialect of wherever you live.

I think it's a fake accent. I've heard people from Texas and they sound different. He was actually born in New Jersey of something like that. He probably just wants to look like a 'man of the people.'

He was born and raised in Texas. His accent is more what we call Southwestern. I have two friends who moved to New Jersey to Texas when they were in their early 20's. One of the brothers lost his Jersey accent bu the other one kept his.

I can tell you as a texan, he talks like a texan. He has lived most of his life in texas. You don't have to be born there to have an accent.
