If you want to come to Alaska to see the best stuff....come during the months of June and July. If you like to fish, come to the Kenai Peninsula. It is beautiful here with lots to see. The drive from Anchorage to Homer is Awesome! Lots of wildlife. Beautiful scenery! Friendly people. I've never been on the cruise, but it is a limited scenery trip. Things to look at but no adventure really. Driving from Anchorage you would see the Turnagain Arm where there is the second fastest tide in the world...surrounded by beautiful mountains (no matter what the weather). You might also see the Dall sheep along the mountain side next to the road. You will see moose down on the Peninsula and possibly caribou and bear. You should take a trip up here. It would be unforgettable! Your kid would love it! It only gets dark for a couple of hours. Around June 21 it only gets dark for maybe half and hour.

Yes hes old enough. I loved boats when I was 10. Alaskas beautiful and during the summer it gets dark only about a couple hours the rest of the time its light. He will like the trip and tell all his friends when he gets back to school, that should be a cool memory!
