Could you imagine how embarassing it would be for a 24 year to go into a pub and try and purchase alcohol, but be declined because she looks 16. Thats were she whips out her ID and shows them up instead. Can you imagine a 24 year old going to enrol for her college and they put down 2005 leaving school when it was back in 1997... and the administrator gets confused saying but you was only a baby back then. Then you say: 'No im 24'.

No, people always complain that they are getting older, or hide their birthdays and lie about their ages. You should be grateful.

that happened to me a lot when i was in my 20's it can be embarrassing at times but i dont know what you can do about except wait til you are old enough to stop looking like a teenager

on one occassion when i was 22 i was working on the checkouts in a frozen food shop and a customer REFUSED to be served by me as i was just a part timer college student who only wanted the money and was not serious about the job

in fact i was full time and trained in some of the supervisory duties so that when the supervisor was day off on holiday etc i caould do her work. (the cashier she went to to be was a part timer whose main reason for doing the job was to get extra money)

it can be hard when you feel you are not taken seriously just politely point out that you are 24 and not 16 usually the other person is at least if not more embarrassed than you.

I'm 24 and look a lot younger. I still always get asked for ID whenever I try to buy alcohol. I also get constant comments - I've just qualified as a junior doctor and I'm constantly being mistaken for a first year medical student.

I hate it just now........I hate the fact that my younger sister gets sold alcohol and I don't. And it's really embarrassing when you get asked for ID. But lets face it, there are worse things in the world than looking young for your age, and as everyone else pointed out, you'll be glad of it in 10 years time.

But think of it the other way around. Would you rather be 16 years old and look like a 24 year old?
In a few years time you will be so happy that you look young for your age.
I have a friend who, at the age of 29, used to get asked for ID to get into a bar!

Sorry 'bout that BABY...
1. I am Fortyfive ( 45 ) - On my first visit to a newly opened casino - had my winnings on roulette ( Zar 1.2m ie. 4x max bet ) confiscated / forfeited and kicked out.
I returned an hour later after fetching my ID / Passport , rest is history.
2. At the regular casino I attend (5 min from my office) , I am known by all senior personnel.
In its 5 yrs existence - I did not visit any of its night spots / clubs.
The age ristriction : - min. 21 yr.
One night after a staff dinner,I was goaded by my female staff to go in.The "bouncers" turned me out at the door !!!!

Keep up being youthful - someday we'll reap the rewards !!!

Women eh. In 20 years time you'll be pleased if people think you are 8 years younger than you are.

I get IDed a lot, but I'm used to it so I don't care, I usually make a joke with the bouncers about it.

Probably quite embarassing. But at my work I would be fined a £1000 and be sacked if I don't I.D people. So I ID a lot of people even when I know they are old enough just to be on the safe side. Don't take it personally, it's just people trying to cover their arses!

Its good to look young for your age! When I was 25 I looked 15. But now I am 48 and look 35.

Take it as compliment!
but really need to explain.. LOL
Like orangecrush mentioned..it is better to look young than to act young... it is two different thing..
It could happen in two ways , they see you, believe at your age but not in your ID or believe in your ID but not how they see you..
just say *Thanks, it happens most of the time people look at me younger but I am 24 now*.. period..
For me, i thought it was an insult,, I was 35 and ppl see me as 25,OMG but as i get used to this ,I learned that I just have to deal with it and be thankful as I gets older..

I'm 28 and still get carded when I buy cigarettes. not embarassing. kind of flattering in a way. I get carded when i go to bars as well. and since I look so young, I always get free sodas too. I don't drink that much so it kinda works out in the end.
