Michael Jordan made everyone around him better while still achieving great personal milestones. Usually it's one way or the other. He also had the ability to take over the game and make it seem like it was 1 on 5, especially down the stretch when it counts the most. He handled pressure very well and kept his cool for the most part. Only great players can do that.

Without a doubt Magic Johnson. Best passer ever. Great scorer. Great defendaner. Good Rebounder. Could play any position on the floor, and when he was a rookie and 19 he played center in the NBA finals and had one of the greatest games ever.
Jordan would be second followed by Bill Russell.

No one is now, or will be, better than Jordan.
When Stackhouse was with the Sixers, he talked trash about Jordan. The next time they played against eachother, Jordan guarded Stackhouse.
Stackhouse scored 4 points, Jordan scored 36 points.
Jordan played with the flu against Utah in the finals. Jordan scored 38 points
George Karl, when he coached the Seattle Supersonics in the playoffs, said that, "Jordan just drives to the hoop, no jump shots." In the next game, Jordan scored 44 points - all jumpshots.
When the media asked Karl about Jordan, Karl said, "I have
nothing to say; I don't want to give him no more motivation".

It's going to be either Dwayne Wade or Lebron James. They're performing like Jordan already but they're only in their third year. The sky's the limit for those two.

its really hard to pick a "best player" everyone have something that they do really well. Chamberlain for example was an awesome shooter. 100 point game.....priceless.
the best OVERALL player i would sya is MJ.
From what we seen D.Wade do in the play offs, i think he has potential to become one of the greats.
