Why does the current (and some past) administration of the US of A think they are the only ones who know how others should be running their business? Bring on the asinine answers to my clearly asinine question...

2000, when the Supreme Court decided that a fair and accurate recount must be stopped. Read the dissents in that case (see link below).

And I think Mr.Danger's title is more accurate, though I prefer "Commander in Sheik". Captures the flavor better.

You've hit the real problem though. Hypocrisy. This administration would never tolerate another country doing what they claim is justified.

Regardless of whether we like North Korea or Iran or not, if Germany or England or Brazil tried to tell the US that it could not engage in particular research or test weapons in international waters, the US would tell them to go bleep themselves. And then defend their rights with force.

And every other country that has invaded another sovereign nation because they didn't like the way things were being handled has been denounced as tyrants. But it's alright for the US to do it?

And the US denounces other countries (well, they used to last decade) for torturing people or violating civil rights. But the current administration can ignore not only its own Constitution but many international treaties (signed and ratified), because it feels like it?

Hypocrisy has always bothered me. And the current US administration is the best case for why in at least the last century.

Well you have to understand that sometimes it feel that way.

One party control over the Executive, Legislative and Judical can seem to lack accountibility or oversight.

More importantly it seems that powers of the president are expanding more than they should,
specifically the arguement that in a time of war the president has the power to ingore all other laws to protect the people.
There are those who agree with that statement, and those who see it as not only dangerous but in complete contridication to the rule of law.

More importantly, if you give the president ulitmate power during war,
then hasn't the president declared a never ending war on terriorism where there is no nation or state that can surrender or sign a peace treaty..

the power of the president has been expanded on purpose, Cheney and Rumsfeld who served under Nixion saw the power of the president lose ground and have tried to expand it ever since.

As long as people are comfortable with their lives and they have the necessities they will let anybody and everybody control our lives. You are right, we should keep our noses out of other peoples business and take care of our own. How about some decent health care?????
