the car was repo'd, with my things still in in, and I was told that arrangements would be made, someone would be in touch with me, to retrieve my stuff. That was three months ago, and the car has since been sold, in another state. What can i do to recover the loss of my valuables? No one ever contacted me, and when I called the automaker, they said it may be too late, and that's it. But I did call to get my things back. No one called me back.

In most states (if not all), the recovery company is legally obligated to make your belongings available to you for a specific period of time. In most states it is 21 days. Others may vary. However, they are under no obligation to notify you & make an appointment. Your responsibility under most laws would be to show up at their office & claim your stuff within that period of time.

There is no compensation due. The value of the items lost goes under the category of 'tuition paid' for your education in the real world.

If you have learned the lesson you have paid for, you will not make the same errors again. Gradually you will accumulate enough knowledge ( either thru tuition paid or thru observation) so that your life will become smoother. Of course it is easier if one learns through observation. Humans do not live long enough to make every mistake for themselves.

I'm guessing there is nothing you can do. Why wouldn't you just keep calling or going to where it was repoed??

The lender will want YOU to pay what YOU owe, and then they will discuss your stuff. Too late now though, deadbeat.

You don't...You should have paid your damn bill. Or if you weren't paying your bill it might have been a good idea to take the crap out of the car....hmmm
