First off, it was Cpl. Walter "Radar" O'Reilly, not William. It wouldn't have been a show without all of the above characters. How can a show go thru so many changes of characters without loosing it's audience? I guess the one that shines the brightest is Klinger. He is one of only a few that was in all seasons, Along with Hawkeye, Maragret, and a few others that I can't remember. For all of you trivia buffs, William Christopher wasn't the first padre, there was someone else in the first episode in the first season.

Potter, he is such a lay back kind of leader, with great bits of wisdom. Radar, for his wise innocence. BJ - he is so devious in a nice way. Father Mulcahey - he is so non-judgemental and nice all of the time.
Each character is essential - how much character would Hawkeye have without the women and Frank or Winchester.
And Klinger and Hot Lips, both evolve so much through the show.
No favorite...love them all.

Cpl. William "Radar" O'Reilly. Gary Burghoff did an excellent job of combining insecurity and naivety with honesty, integrity, and no small amount of hero worship; creating a character I couldn't help but root for.

He was a great foil to Hawkeye/BJ in the Swamp.
