Some interesting answers so far!
I think the main issue here is peoples fear of growing old and infirm. If for example you plus all your family and friends where given the opportunity to be eternally young and beautiful. Throw in a crime free world.
Would that sway you?

Eternity is a very long time - I would like to have a increased life span in a fit and youthful body but maybe after the first few thousand years I might want to try something else!

yes, i would like to be eternally young...until some bleak future moment when iam sure i'd want to split with my spirit back to
God...but being young for a few thousand years would be fun!

God probably set the whole thing up so that we would have the lifespan we do so that we would either make it or break it as the opportunity to ascend. If we don't do it in the time alloted to us,
we probably would just getstuck anyways.

Luckily cards with indentification details on were invented. Could you imagine how embarassing it would be for a 24 year to go into a pub and try and purchase alcohol, but be declined because she looks 16. Thats were she whips out her ID and shows them up instead.

No way... I want to be old. You have an excuse to whack people with a walking stick, and wear funny hats, and you're clothes don't have to match, and no-one'll say anything about the size of your butt, I can't wait!

Yes, as long as I could pick the right moment to be immortal and all the impotant people in my life could have immortality too, otherwise it would be very lonely.
