Football is a global sport enjoyed by people all over the world. Why should it be just resticted to countries that are established at football? Surely it would get boring if the same countries hosted the World Cup and same teams won.Spreading the sport by exposing different parts of the world to football is only good for the sport, like in 2002 with Japan and South Korea who showed great pride and raised awareness and new love for football.Africa would only benefit from the commercial sponsors and exposure from the entire world if only for a month.
The heat in Africa would not be much different to how it was in 94 in the USA or the 2014 World Cup which will be a country in South America.
The attendance is not a problem as only 20% of tickets are sold to people outside the host nation, hence the huge crowds outside stadiums at this years World Cup.

Is your problem the fact that the world cup is being held in Africa? But no matter where it is held the organizers are alwasy going to have challenges.I'm sure South Africa will do a good job with the tournament. And just so u know South Africa is one of the most developed countries in Africa.

Have you been to South Africa? Its about time for an african country to host the world cup. Have pity on us. And why judge even when 2009 is not yet here? Do you know why they announce the hosting country 5 years ealy before the world cup is hosted? Do some homework.

I dont think it is. You can see all the problems that Germany is having with fans, and I think that a 3rd world country like south africa could not handle the problems that Germany is having.

i agree with kwame. just because it's in africa it does not mean that it's going to be hot. it's going to be just like germany. the fans are still going to go and have a good time. the world cup is going to be the same no matter where it is.
