When digging a hole, the edge of the hole is the beginning of the hole - which is created as soon as the shovel hits the dirt.
Thus, the edge of the hole comes first.

This depends on which angle you approach the hole, of example if you where to approach the hole from the side you would encounter the edge of the hole first, but if you where to approach the hole head on you would reach the centre of the hole first.

er what do you mean? do you mean when you drill a hole? or when your passing by one? going above one? if you start outside the hole then the edge comes first and if your starting from the inside, the hole comes first.
if you are drilling a hole, then the edge comes first again, since the hole is not made instantaneously.

before you have a hole all you have is earth/soil, only when you open that up do you get a hole and therefore, a hole includes its boundary circumference, you have to have a hole to make a holes` edge.
