no. yes. Originally, the religions allowed us to have civilization.
Without them, we would still be living in tribal or feudal warfare states. However, they have become sick and abused paradigms,
and we should junk the whole lot of them in favor of modern sociology and civil engineering and ethics and psychology.

The Bible is not the the problem it is what man has done to religion by attacking one another. In other countries that kill each other. In the USA they judge each others religion, judging if it is Christian, true or even a religion. The Holy Words of the Bible could solve most of our problems but not as long as each person that reads it must be right. I have been judged & critized my whole life by people whose only knowledge of my religion is the 5 minute history lesson or by the weekly criticism of their preacher who knows nothing about us. It is like going to an Athiest and asking about the Methodist. People have always twisted the scriptures to suit them. It may be more peaceful if we studied the Bible at home where no one decided what we believed but us.

once you start up down the slippery slope of believing in an invisible magic being that tells human beings what to do, there is almost no decrease to a persons'' moves. For good human beings to do evil issues and phone them good, THAT takes faith: The inquisitions The crusades The genocides The Holocaust The e book burnings The heretic burnings The heretic stonings the honour killings The killing of gays The killing of apostates The amputation of limbs Human sacrifice (such as that of the legendary Jesus) countless wars contained in the call of religion Hindering of technology Hindering of medication Hindering of social progression Hindering of training Backing of slavery Subjugation of females infant rapes through non secular leaders, and the cover-united states9/11 Suicide bombings ...and far more effective. i'd pick to guide away from repeats.

I don't think world will be better off without religion. churches receive a large sum of donations from their followers, and these money are going to help the needy. Without religion, we will see a huge decrease in the amount of money going into charity. Religion are teaching people to do good things, not bad. The terrorists are the extremists, I don't think they are real religious follower. I don't believe in any religion either, but I know that most religion teach us to do good things. Without religion those extremists will find other reasons to hate us. The war will not end because we don't have religion.

Wars would still exist. Religion is just a tool to galvanise the dead heads within society who still give a crap about God. John Lennon had it right.

If you think that wars would cease just because there's no Bible, you know nothing about the nature of man.

Spirituality itself can help alot of people and bring out their better side. It can actually bring out alot of good. Once spirituality becomes organized religion, then groups and their beliefs begin to colide. That's when we get wars, crusades, etc.
