Yes, it is known that they can become scrambled or even sent to random people. But this happens 1 in every 1,000,000 sms sent! So don't worry, chances are it won't happen to you.

Yes, Anti 427 is right. No matter how reliable the system is (any digital system) there could be a very very very very very small chance that some data could get lost during transmission.
