i want to leave my current job due to poor working enviroment conditions. i'm being mistreated, harassed, not allowed to talk to anyone; yet they can, i work my butt of to please everyone, but no-one takes the time to say, 'thanks'. i lend a hand to those who won't lend a hand back.

for the past week or so. i had put in an application to another job. i told my managers at my current job about it. they said they don't want me to leave. that i'm their best employee, yet they won't do anything to change the working habits. they say just to igore it.

so should i just go? (i already got the second job. i just have to put in a two weeks notice)

Now.

2 weeks notice is a formality, NOT a requirement. If the environment is as bad as you say it is, say goodbye ASAP.

First of all you said that there are poor working environment conditions. You know what I would do I would take it higher over heads so far that they wouldn't know what hit them. Secondly, your being mistreated, you don't take that I'd report that, too. Harassed, did you say, and I quote "HARASSED" you know what I would do I would turn the person in doing it to you they can get in big, and I mean big trouble. How can you work at a job if you can't talk to people. That's crazy. Don't work if they are standing around, **** them. Don't ever lend a hand to a non-helping hand. You know what I would do I'd walk up to him and I hope you are sooooo happy because now it's time to say goodbye. That's just my opinion.

You will always be mis-treated in your current job. If I were you i'd give the notice and be gone.
I advise you to take the other job, but be firmer when letting your new employer know what you expect. Often times people are abused and bullied in the workplace, and once it is established that someone is a "pushover" there is no limit to the mis-treatment they will have to endure.
You seem like a hard-working and dedicated individual, so I hope you find a good job where your input is valued.

When you are unhappy at work you make everyone else unhappy with you. It also puts stress on you and makes things bad when you at home with your family. If you like the other offer and feel you would fit in better at the other place go for it. Just remember, it usually takes two to make a problem. Do some self searching and honestly try to think of ways you can change to make things better. If you honestly feel you are not part of the problem, then go.

your biggest mistake was telling your managers about your looking elsewhere for work. but since you got the other job doesn't really matter now. had you not, it shows that not only were you complaining about the work conditions there, but, instead of addressing it to them, you went elsewhere to look for work. it basically would've just given them a reason to fire you. and your question pretty much answers itself. if you were their best employee and didn't want to see you go, don;t you think they would make an effort to rectify the work conditions there? since, obviously, they're not and told you to forget about it, it's obvious they are lying to you to make you feel better and stick it out since no one else will do the quality of work you will. Since you already have your other job lined up, I wouldn't give them a 2 week notice. But, that's me. In your case, put in your 2 weeks ASAP and get the hell out of there. You deserve better than that. I've had several jobs like yours there and every single time in that situation, I'd walk out and never come back. Places like that are sh*it and if you stay there, you'll eventually turn out like your co-workers; lazy, self centered and miserable. Get out now.

I would have been gone. Especially since you got another job.
Some employers won't let you use them as a reference if you
quit on the spot and not give them a 2-week notice. If this is bothering you put in that notice already so you'll be outta there
2 weeks from now. I hope you enjoy that new job.

I would definately quit your current job and start focusing on your other job. I worked at a job where my supervisor would only appreciate the people that was her favorites, the co-workers at this job were not very friendly. it's nice to come to work for a company that will appreciate what your doing and even say hello or have a nice day.

I would go ahead and give your two weeks. If they really want to keep you at your current job, when you place your two weeks they might try to negotiate with you.
Just remember, the most important thing about a job isn't the money. It's really how much you enjoy going to work and what you do there.

DId you talk to HR? Don;t tell anyone you are going to leave. They will make it worse for you. If you do want to stay see what HR can do for you. They can talk to your office, coworkers and tell them that thier actions are harrasment and they can be sued without naming names. They can have a general workshop on office manners. Good luck. Also, you should let let your new employer know why u are leaving..the bad place. Let them know that you want a career adancement. Never bad mounth a formr employor on an interview

Go for it. I worked at a place like that a few years ago, with the Supervisor from hell. I walked out one day and never went back.
Any time you wake up in the morning and dread going so much that you cry, it's time to give it up.
